How a New Website is Like a New Baby
Launching (or in our case, re-launching) a new website is a lot like having a baby. Most often, it is done with careful planning, born out of the marriage of a business and the need to reach its customer base. After conception, you circle a birth date on a calendar, although you can never quite specify with great accuracy when it will be ready. It takes weeks, if not months of nurturing in the womb of a developer's care, with lots of 'checkups' and scans along the way, both before birth and after delivery. And even after it enters this world, the primary caregiver must hover over it for days and weeks, making sure it gets proper attention, exhibits the proper color and sounds, and does not catch a virus. Finally, on the night of delivery, the caregiver comes home exhausted and sleep deprived, yet beaming with pride.
So with this attempted humorous analogy (we hope we got at least a grin out of you), OccasionOgraphy re-launches this, its own website, which could be said to have been ten years in the making. Originally conceived to launch in January 2009 to commemorate our company's 10th Anniversary, the project ended up taking a back seat to many others designed to assist our current network of dealers, which now number in the thousands and for which we are truly grateful and appreciative. Over the past decade, we have launched thousands of new small businesses and touched millions of lives with our personalized candy bars, mintbooks, bottled water and more.
While we find ourselves in the midst of the Great Recession, the fundamental appeal of our business and the ever-growing number of occasions which our products help celebrate keeps us grateful and growing. Now more than ever, people are seeking ways to generate additional income for themselves and their families. And particulary during these tough economic times, our company, our staff, and our dealers take great pride in being a part of a proven, genuine, and fun company whose very existence thrives on celebrating the events and occasions so precious and important in the lives of our customers. We hope you see fit to take up your role in our story.
